Which car insurers are Recommended Providers?
LV
In our survey، LV received the highest rating from claimants، scoring 79%. Additionally، its policy was the top-performing policy with a score of 77% when compared to other providers’ standard policies. LV is among the minority of providers that guarantee repairs for the lifetime of a vehicle and one of just 11 that offer policyholders a temporary replacement car if their car is stolen.
Moreover، LV stands out by providing coverage for no-claims bonuses against an unlimited number of claims. Customers in our survey praised LV for its ability to handle queries and offer value for money. In fact، 35% of LV claimants in our survey felt that they were getting a cheaper price with it than what other insurers were offering، a sentiment shared by 26% of claimants overall.
NFU Mutual
NFU Mutual is a remarkable car insurance provider for holding the distinction of never losing its WRP status since the launch of the scheme more than ten years ago. It did remarkably well in our analysis this year، securing the second position overall، just behind LV، with a customer score of 78% and a policy score of 76%.
Unlike most providers، NFU Mutual does not charge a cancellation fee or interest if you choose to pay monthly. However، NFU Mutual is not available on comparison sites. To obtain a quote، you must contact one of its 300 branches.
Unfortunately، NFU Mutual may not provide coverage to customers in all postcodes، particularly in major cities.
Direct Line
Direct Line، one of the largest insurers in the market، continues to hold its place as a Which? Recommended Provider. It earned a customer score of 78%، tying for second place with NFU Mutual.
Although Direct Line is a sister brand to Churchill and Privilege، it is not featured on price comparison sites. However، it is worthwhile to contact them or visit their website to obtain a quote.
Aviva
Aviva is the fifth provider to receive the Which? Recommended Provider endorsement، with a strong customer score of 74%، placing it in sixth position out of 15 brands. Its standard policy also received a respectable score of 66% in our analysis.
Aviva offers slightly different versions of its coverage through comparison sites، known as ‘Aviva Online’ (with a score of 65%) and ‘Aviva Premium’ (with a score of 66%).
